Aaron ReardonAaron Reardon was born and raised in Snohomish County and is serving his second term as Snohomish County Executive. Prior to taking office in 2004, Aaron served five years in the Washington State Legislature as both a Senator and member of the House of Representatives.

Throughout his tenure in public service, Aaron has earned national recognition for his work to improve government accountability, public safety, urban renewal and economic development.  His leadership ability and consensus approach to problem solving has earned him special appointments to the Democratic Leadership Council, the Washington Economic Development Finance Authority, the Western Congress of States and the Pacific Northwest Regional Economic Council. When he ran for County Executive in November 2003, Aaron promised to bring fiscal discipline to Snohomish County government. In 2004, by using Priority-Based Budgeting for the first time in County history, he was able to close a $13.4 million budget gap inherited when he took office – without raising taxes.

Today, Snohomish County is a leader in promoting fiscal responsibility, transparency and accountability.

Our goal is to make Snohomish County the most efficient and effective service delivery system in the nation. Aaron earned a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Public Administration with a minor in Economics from Central Washington University. He is a lifelong resident of Everett and a graduate of Mariner High School. Aaron is married to Kate, who serves as the public information director for the City of Everett. They have two children, Madeline and Jack, and make their home in North Everett.
